Warning--It has a lameish cover, which has scared people away from it, I think.
The House of Tomorrow by Peter Bognanni was a fun, quirky coming-of-age.
One of favorite books last year that's also about mothering is called The Hand that First Held Mine by Maggie O'Farrell.
Last Night in Montreal by Emily St. John Mandel is beautiful and a little strange.
Um, um...One Day by Nicholls for something pop-culture-laden and kinda light. China Mieville's The City & The City (part mystery, part fantasy, plus a whole lot of weird and awesome). The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell. Everyone loves this book. Because it is great. And tragic. And if you do love it, there is a sequel. Or John Wyndham's The Chrysalids. More literary sci-fi of the bleak post-apocalyptic variety, which I hear all the kids are reading these days.arajanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13198382896754614096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3943662824505036812.post-18058091380090223912011-03-24T15:52:18.294-07:002011-03-24T15:52:18.294-07:00Read a grown up book.
